The Mycotyrant is a Golgari commander from The Lost Caverns of Ixalan built around the descend mechanic — one of the most graveyard-hungry engines in recent sets. Whenever permanent cards enter your graveyard, you descend, and The Mycotyrant rewards every descent with a growing army of Fungus tokens. The more permanents you feed into the graveyard, the faster the colony multiplies — until a board that started as a handful of tokens becomes an overwhelming wall of bodies that opponents simply cannot clear fast enough.
The deck is built to maximize descent triggers: sacrifice outlets that convert permanents into graveyard fuel on demand, self-mill effects that fill the graveyard consistently every turn, and enough token payoffs and anthem effects to convert the Fungus army into a lethal closing force. Opponents destroying your creatures aren't solving the problem — they're accelerating it.
