Tayam, Luminous Enigma is an Abzan commander from Commander 2020 built around one of the most repeatable permanent recursion engines in the format. His activated ability costs three mana and removes three counters from creatures you control — mill three cards, then put any permanent with mana value three or less from your graveyard directly onto the battlefield. No casting. No restrictions. Just the best low-cost permanent in your graveyard arriving for free every single activation.
The deck is built around two things: generating enough counters to fuel Tayam's ability every turn, and stocking the graveyard with the most impactful permanents worth recurring at mana value three or less. Persist and undying creatures that provide their own counters and return from the graveyard after being milled, enchantments and artifacts that generate enormous value when repeatedly recycled, and enough self-mill to ensure the graveyard is always deep enough to find exactly the right piece. The enigma doesn't resolve — it just keeps generating answers until opponents run out of questions.
