If that spell has targets, you may choose new targets for the copy, which means cheap cantrips, pump spells, removal, and interaction all become dramatically stronger the moment you sequence them correctly. Official rulings also note that if your second spell targets a permanent or player, you still have to copy it even if there are no good new targets, so the deck rewards careful timing.
This deck is built around Jeskai spellslinger and spell-copy synergy: cheap setup spells to make sure your second cast each turn is the one that matters, interaction that becomes far more efficient when copied, and payoff cards that reward you for chaining spells across multiple turns.
