Noctis is an Esper commander built around artifact recursion, life as a resource, and steady value through repeated casting. He has lifelink, which helps offset the life payments his strategy demands, and he lets you cast artifact spells from your graveyard by paying 3 life in addition to their other costs. If you cast an artifact this way, it enters with a finality counter on it, so the deck rewards careful timing, efficient artifacts, and pieces that still generate value even if they only come back once. Scryfall’s rulings also note that you still pay all normal costs and follow timing rules when casting those artifacts from the graveyard.

This deck is built around Esper artifact recursion: cheap and efficient artifacts to keep your engine running, graveyard support that makes sure you always have good targets, and payoff pieces that turn repeated artifact casting into card advantage, combo pressure, or board development. EDHREC currently groups Noctis most strongly with Artifacts, Combo, Reanimator, and some Equipment shells, which fits a strategy built on grinding value early and snowballing once the graveyard becomes live.
