Maelstrom Wanderer is a Temur commander from Planechase 2012 and the most explosive cascade engine the format has ever put in the command zone. When the Wanderer enters the battlefield it cascades twice — exiling cards until finding two spells with mana value seven or less and casting both of them for free. Every cast of an eight-mana commander produces two additional free spells and gives every creature you control haste until end of turn. A single Maelstrom Wanderer resolving can put fifteen to twenty mana worth of spells onto the battlefield simultaneously, all attacking immediately.
The deck is built around two things: getting to eight mana as fast as possible and stacking the top of the library with the most impactful spells available at mana value seven or less. Fast green ramp that reaches the eight-mana threshold by turn four or five, high-value cascade hits that individually justify the slot and collectively end games when chained together, and enough library manipulation to ensure the two cascade spells are never dead draws when they flip. Opponents countering the Wanderer haven't solved the problem — they've delayed it by one turn cycle and the ramp still exists.
