Brenard, Ginger Sculptor is a Bant commander from Wilds of Eldraine with one of the most uniquely satisfying replacement effects in the format. Whenever another non-token creature you control dies, you may exile it — if you do, you create a 1/1 white Gingerbread creature token that's a copy of that creature, except it loses all other card types and becomes a Food artifact in addition to its other types. Your best creatures don't go to the graveyard. They become edible artifact copies of themselves that can be sacrificed for three life or used as artifacts whenever the moment calls for it.
The deck is built around creatures worth preserving in cookie form: high-value ETB creatures that leave behind artifact copies worth keeping, Food synergies that squeeze additional value from every Gingerbread token before it's sacrificed, and enough blink and bounce effects to recycle the best creatures through their mortal and cookie phases repeatedly. The sculptor doesn't mourn fallen creatures — he turns them into something sweeter and twice as useful.
