Every token you create comes with a Food. Every two Food tokens you pay generates three mana. The farm funds the army and the army funds itself.
Baylen, the Haymaker is a Selesnya commander from Bloomburrow built around the most efficient token-to-Food-to-mana conversion engine the format has produced in a single card. Whenever one or more creatures enter the battlefield under your control, you create a Food token. You can also pay two Food and tap Baylen to add three green and white mana. The Food tokens function as both a lifegain reserve and a permanent mana acceleration engine — every creature you cast generates fuel for the next, and the fuel itself generates mana that casts the next creature.
The deck is built around maximum creature density and Food amplification: cheap creatures and tokens that trigger Baylen's Food generation on every entry, additional Food generators that stack tokens beyond what Baylen produces alone, and enough sacrifice and artifact synergies to squeeze additional value from every Food before it's spent on mana. The haymaker doesn't rush the harvest — he builds the farm first and lets the army grow out of abundance rather than force. By mid-game the Food token count produces enough mana to cast the entire hand in a single turn.
