Zedruu the Greathearted is a Jeskai Minotaur monk from Commander 2011 built around the most deceptively sinister gift-giving mechanic in the format. At the beginning of your upkeep, you gain life and draw cards equal to the number of permanents you own that opponents control. The more you give away, the more you draw and the more you heal. The trick is what you're giving — Zedruu's most beloved targets are cursed enchantments, donated Demonic Pacts with nothing left to choose, and permanents that punish whoever controls them. Generosity as a weapon has never been more refined.
The deck operates on two axes simultaneously: a legitimate group hug shell that earns goodwill and resources through genuine donations, and a hidden chaos layer that slips toxic permanents across the table at exactly the right moment. Opponents don't know which version of Zedruu they're facing until it's too late. By then the card draw engine has pulled so far ahead that it doesn't matter whether they figure it out.
