Yidris, Maelstrom Wielder is a four-color (WUBGR) Ogre Wizard commander from Commander 2016 with the most chaotic and powerful combat damage trigger in the format. Whenever Yidris deals combat damage to a player, every spell you cast for the rest of the turn gains cascade — exiling cards from the top of your library until you find something cheaper and casting it for free. A single Yidris hit turns every spell in your hand into two spells. Multiple hits in the same turn stack the cascade triggers, turning an already explosive turn into a completely unmanageable chain of free casts.
The deck is built around guaranteeing that first hit and then maximizing the cascade chain: trample and evasion effects that make Yidris nearly impossible to profitably block, high-mana spells that cascade into other high-mana spells for maximum free value, and enough card draw to ensure the hand is fully loaded before Yidris ever swings. One successful attack with a full hand in four colors generates more free spells than opponents can track — let alone answer.
