Winter, Misanthropic Guide is a Sultai commander from Bloomburrow built around the most deliberately antisocial resource denial engine the format's smallest set has produced. Winter rewards you for having the fewest cards in hand — whenever you cast a spell while having fewer cards in hand than each opponent, you draw a card. The deck actively wants to empty its own hand as fast as possible while keeping opponents flush with cards they can't convert into answers fast enough to stop what's already on the table.

The deck is built around hand depletion as a strategic advantage: zero and one mana spells that empty the hand quickly while advancing the board, wheel effects that reset everyone's hand simultaneously but leave Winter's engine better positioned to exploit the new cards than anyone else, and enough library manipulation to ensure every empty-handed draw step finds exactly the right piece to continue the chain. Opponents sitting on full hands of answers find Winter already three spells ahead and drawing another card for the privilege.
