As long as there are four or more lore counters among Sagas you control, Tom has hexproof and indestructible, which makes him much harder to remove once your engine is running. Then, whenever the final chapter ability of a Saga you control resolves, you reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal a Saga card and put it onto the battlefield. That means one finished Saga helps replace itself with the next, letting your board keep progressing without running out of momentum. This ability only triggers once each turn, so the deck rewards smart sequencing and Sagas that give you strong value at every chapter.
