Thalisse, Reverent Medium is an Orzhov commander from Commander 2021 built around the most reliable end-of-turn token doubling engine the format has produced. At the beginning of each end step, you create a number of 1/1 white and black Spirit tokens with flying equal to the number of tokens you created this turn. Every token generator in your deck fires twice — once when the effect resolves and once when Thalisse tallies the count at end of turn. A single Lingering Souls becomes four Spirits. A Spectral Procession becomes six. The board fills with flying bodies faster than opponents can process the math.
The deck is built around maximizing token creation density across every turn: cheap token spells that flood the board and double through Thalisse's trigger, sacrifice outlets that convert excess tokens into resources while keeping the end-of-turn count climbing, and enough aristocrats payoffs to drain life from every token that enters and every token that dies. The spirits compound turn after turn — and a board of twenty flying Spirits that appeared as a byproduct of normal gameplay is not something opponents find answers to in time.
