Raffine, Scheming Seer is the premier Esper commander from Streets of New Capenna built around the connive mechanic taken to its logical extreme. Whenever you attack, each creature you control connives X times where X is the number of attacking creatures — drawing and discarding, drawing and discarding, filtering through your library at an accelerating rate while stacking +1/+1 counters on every creature that discards a nonland card. Wide attacks filter the entire hand simultaneously. Narrow attacks with the right creatures stack counters where they matter most.
The deck is built around maximizing the connive trigger: cheap token generators and go-wide creatures that multiply the number of connive triggers per attack step, high-value discard synergies that turn every discarded card into an additional resource rather than a loss, and a top-end threat package of creatures worth stacking counters on until they close the game in two swings. Raffine rewards attacking and rewards filtering — the two things a well-built Esper deck wants to do every single turn.
