Queza, Augur of Agonies - Editable Canva Template - MTG Commander Deck
Every card you draw makes someone bleed. In a deck built to draw three cards per turn, that adds up fast.
Queza, Augur of Agonies is an Esper commander from Streets of New Capenna with the most punishing passive draw trigger in the format. Whenever you draw a card, each opponent loses one life and you gain one life. Not once per turn. Not once per spell. Every single card drawn — from any source, at any time — fires the trigger. In a format where drawing three to five cards per turn is standard for a well-built deck, Queza converts that normal game action into three to five life swings pointed at every opponent simultaneously without spending a single additional mana.
The deck is built around maximizing draw density across every turn cycle: permanents that draw on upkeep and end step, wheel effects that replace the entire hand and trigger Queza's ability seven times in a single resolution, and enough card selection to ensure every draw is moving toward the next draw effect. The life totals diverge quietly at first — one life here, two there — until opponents look up and realize the gap has become insurmountable and Queza hasn't done anything that looks remotely threatening the entire game.
