Myrel, Shield of Argive is a mono-white commander from The Brothers' War built around the most oppressive combat and spell restriction the format has produced in a single card. Whenever Myrel attacks, you create a 1/1 colorless Soldier artifact creature token for each Soldier you control — meaning a board of five Soldiers attacking creates five more Soldiers mid-combat, doubling the army in a single attack step. And during your turn, opponents simply cannot cast spells or activate abilities that aren't mana abilities. Every main phase and every combat step happens completely uncontested. No instant-speed removal. No flash blockers. No activated abilities. Just your turn, your army, and zero interference.
The deck is built around Soldier tribal density and the explosive token doubling that follows: cheap Soldiers that establish the count Myrel needs to generate meaningful tokens on attack, artifact synergies that reward the token army being artifact creatures, and enough anthem effects to convert the exponentially growing Soldier count into a lethal alpha strike that arrives faster than opponents can prepare for during the turns they're actually allowed to interact.
