Every attack simultaneously fills the graveyard and recovers the most valuable piece already in it. The mill isn't incidental. It's a curated selection process that gets more powerful with every swing.
The deck is built to maximize both halves of that trigger: evasion effects that guarantee Mirko connects every combat step, a spell package worth recurring from the graveyard repeatedly, and enough self-mill acceleration to ensure the graveyard is always deep enough to find exactly what the situation requires.
