Kibo, Uktabi Prince is a Gruul commander from The Brothers' War that turns the humble Banana into a full-blown political and mechanical weapon. Each player gets a Banana token at the beginning of your upkeep — a food artifact that anyone can sacrifice to gain three life. But whenever any player sacrifices a Banana, each Ape you control gets a +1/+1 counter. Generosity disguised as accelerant. The more bananas get eaten around the table, the bigger your monkeys get.
The deck runs Ape tribal as the core threat base, stacking counters through Banana distribution while layering artifact destruction to keep opponents off their best tools. Kibo rewards political play in the early game — Bananas create goodwill that quietly supercharges your board — before pivoting to full Gruul aggression once your Apes have grown completely out of control. There has never been a more deceptively dangerous fruit in Commander history.
