Kalamax, the Stormsire is a Temur commander from Commander 2020 built around the most self-reinforcing instant copy engine in the format. Whenever you cast your first instant spell each turn, you copy it — and if Kalamax is tapped, he gets a +1/+1 counter. Whenever Kalamax gets a counter, you copy that triggered ability too. A single instant with Kalamax tapped and attacking generates two copies and two counters simultaneously, which generates two more copy triggers, which generates two more counters, which generates two more triggers. The math becomes completely unreasonable by the second or third attack.
The deck is built to attack with Kalamax every turn and then unleash instants during the combat step: cheap interaction and cantrips that copy themselves into overwhelming board presence, pump instants that turn Kalamax's growing power into a one-shot commander damage threat, and enough card draw to keep the instant chain fueled through the entire game. Opponents countering one spell find two more copies already on the stack. The storm was always going to happen — Kalamax just decided when.
