Derevi, Empyrial Tactician is a Bant commander from Commander 2013 with two abilities that make her one of the most efficient and frustrating commanders ever printed. Whenever a creature you control deals combat damage to a player or a creature you control enters the battlefield, you tap or untap any permanent. And she can be put directly onto the battlefield from the command zone for four mana — bypassing commander tax entirely. Derevi never gets more expensive to deploy. She just keeps coming back.
The deck is built around the untap engine at full power: mana rocks and lands that generate enormous amounts of mana when repeatedly untapped, stax pieces that lock opponents out while Derevi keeps your side fully operational, and enough evasive creatures to guarantee combat damage triggers every single turn.
